Treatment Review: Biolustre at Pastels
When I was offered a chance to return my hair to its virgin state, It seemed like it was too good to be true. To be fair my hair certainly need something doing to it. The ends were dry and it had that over processed look. Once I had established that I wasn’t actually going back to my natural colour (after all I don’t really want to know quite how grey I am) I couldn’t wait to get down to Pastels and see what they could do for me.
After a warm welcome and a thorough discussion of what I had been doing to my hair previously, Shakira talked me through the process. Basically Biolustre adds keratin polymers to each hair shaft, the worse the hair the more it can absorb. It is said that hair treated by Biolustre is up to 300 times stronger than untreated hair.
Girly coated my hair thoroughly and very carefully with Biolustre, it took quite a while, longer than a full head colour, in fact time for a full French manicure and a pedicure ;-) When she had finished I sat under the dryer hood for 45 mins, toasting away gently. When I came out my head was rock solid! Honestly, it was like concrete, most odd. However after sitting at the backwash (surely the most comfortable in Dubai?) and having my hair gently washed and conditioned about 4 times to make all the product was removed, I could already tell my hair was smoother, not poker straight but then having curly hair that was never going to happen. As Shakira blow-dried my hair I could see straight away it was more manageable, shinier, silky and general far more pleasant to look at.
One week later I had my hair coloured and again my hair looks and feels so much more vibrant and alive but well behaved. The colour seems to have absorbed deeper in a more intense way.
