Lord of the Dance - Abu Dhabi

"Dance, dance, wherever you may be......I am the lord of the dance said he"

I can't get that song out of my head this morning; nor can I stop myself from prancing about the house from kitchen to bathroom high kicking and flicking my feet; mumbling something along the lines of..."I can do it...look!!"

No I haven't been practicing my latest 'Britain's Got Talent' entry. I had the pleasure of attending Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance last night and what a show it was!! Seen by over 50 million people in 60 different countries; it most definitely lived up to its reputation.

Another well-organised event held at the Abu Dhabi Hall in partnership with ADNEC and exactly one hour's drive from Dubai.

A spectacular show from start to finish with fireworks and breathtaking choreography, this talented troupe of dancers from all over Ireland have been Irish Dancing since they were kids. Now they are touring the world showcasing this unique genre of dance and lI was in awe of how talented and powerful they were, (especially the men with their perfect posture and strong legs!). The beat of the music gets into your chest and you just can't stop yourself from clapping or tapping along. The show includes stunning musicians and a fantastic singer Dierdrie Shannon who serenaded us with some beautiful Irish songs.

The story behind the show keeps your interest along the way. It's a classic tale of good versus evil and the costumes are both traditional and exciting.

A great show and something we should be proud to welcome to the Middle East, if you haven't bagged your tickets already, I'd recommend the trip!
