Stepping in, I was engulfed by the sweet smells of lemon grass and lavender that immediately sets the mood for relaxation.  Little touches of Bali, the soothing music, the ambiance and lovely massage therapists all served to enhance my ‘retreat’.
 

Naturally the offer of a refreshing cup of ginger tea was warmly welcomed. Home-made with fresh ginger, the hot tea surprisingly went down well in the heat. 
 

There was a menu of massages to choose from but I left the choice to my spa consultant, who after asking me a few questions decided I was in need of a ‘Mind and Body’ massage. Tanti my masseur offered me a choice of relaxing essential oils.
 

The quiet, relaxing, well-designed ambiance was carried through into the massage room, bathed in warm light and the music softly floating overhead.  For a good spa experience, massage therapists should be sensitive to the kind of touch you want in terms of pressure and Tanti was spot-on.  I felt like I was melting, lying on the massage table, being kneaded with long massage strokes and pressures on all the right spots. 

Starting with me on my back, Tanti worked on my feet and all the way up to the head.  She worked on pressure points and finished with a brisk rub down. I turned over and she repeated the procedure. It was really very, very good. And don’t be fooled by the size of the therapists, they pack a whole lot of energy and strength.

I know they say the best way to relax is to fall asleep and while you are in Slumberland, all the tension in your body gets rubbed out! For me personally Tanti was doing such a good job making me feel all relaxed that I didn’t want to ‘lose’ even one minute of this wonderful sensation. All too soon my hour was up.
 

The next time I come I am definitely bringing along my husband, whom rightfully deserves some pampering as well.  Maven Spa has a mixed-outlet that caters for both gents & ladies and another outlet around the corner that caters just for Ladies.  Go ahead and make that appointment now.  You will be thanking me.
