For 10 years, Drs. Nicolas & Asp have been providing a 'Small Mouths' Programme across Dubai.
Specially designed for children, a free of charge school education program it is designed to create awareness amongst pupils of the importance of good oral health. Launched in 2000, Drs Nicolas & Asp was the first provider to introduce a dental school education programme in Dubai.
The ‘Small Mouths’ program was designed to educate and benefit children of different age groups and has been constantly monitored throughout the ten years, by both research and quality assurance, to ensure that the sessions are on par with current educational needs. The program is divided into 5 groups; 2-5 years, 5-7 years, 7-9 years, 9-12 years and 12-14 years. In 2006, it was further developed using the curriculum of the American Dental Association. Drs Nicolas & Asp has also formed strong partnerships with Oral B and Crest.
Education sessions are interactive, with topics ranging from an introduction of the '7 healthy dental habits' (5-7 years), the importance of teeth (7-9 years), taking responsibility for dental health (9-12 years) and behaviours that can cause dental health problems, such as mouth piercing and tobacco (12-14 years). All children receive a gift bag appropriate to their age. The programme also caters for children with special needs.

Our goal is to continue the development of the programme and make even more of an impact on the region’s oral health.’’
In just one year Drs Nicolas & Asp has given dental education sessions to more than 13,500 students, visiting over 71 schools and nurseries.
