Fit For A King!




H&G DesignWorks is the latest division of H&G. In addition to residential design, it also offers commercial design and fit out services. One of its customers wanted to share his experience with H&G’s readers after using this service. In his own words, here is what he had to say.

 

“I own a group of companies and apart from meeting a large number of employees every day, I also need to entertain a lot of VIPs and strategic business partners. I needed a luxurious office where I could shift smoothly between work and entertaining as required.

H&G’s team was very innovative during the concept stage and it was essentially their layout design which convinced me to finalize them from amongst the other designers. They executed the plan very professionally and without any deviations. They understood my need for speed and delivered before the deadline.

My office layout now has a very smooth flow. There are designated areas for work with complete focus on functionality. The entertaining area on the other hand is plush with a sensible seating plan which allows for me to meet with a large number of guests at any given time. The woodwork, customized cabinets and display units were all prepared in-house by H&G. I explained my aversion to wires before the start of the project and they gave me an office where all wires are concealed.

The Power of Vinegar & Baking Soda

We live in a toxic world and chemicals have invaded our lives to a dangerous extent. During recent years, new research has created awareness about the harmful effects of these chemicals. By making and using natural cleaning products in your household, you can ensure a safer home for yourself and family. Here are some natural cleaning products you can make with either white vinegar or baking soda.

• Mix vinegar and salt to create highly effective surface cleaners.
• Half a cup of white vinegar into a gallon of warm water for cleaning ceramic tiles. This will remove the dirt and not leave any residue behind.
• Squeezing warm vinegar onto stick-on-hooks or stickers will help remove the old glue easily.
• One cup of vinegar into a gallon of
• warm water removes grease and restores shine on “no-wax" inoleum floors.
• Equal amounts of vinegar and water remove carpet stains, pet smells and clean ovens.
• Fill a dirty vase with water upto the half mark, add two tablespoons of vinegar and wait for two hours. Scrub with soft cloth, rinse and dry. Your vase will be sparkling clean and smell great.
• Into a spray bottle add one-quarter cup of vinegar and fill with water. Spray on windows or glass and use either paper towels or crumpled newspaper to dry and shine.
• Sprinkle baking soda on a damp cloth and use to polish silverware. Rinse and dry.
• Four tablespoons of baking powder in a quart of water make an excellent solution for general cleaning of floors and kitchen surfaces.
• A thick paste of baking soda and water works very well for removal of black heel marks from floors.
• Baking soda on a clean damp sponge on bathroom and kitchen surfaces is an effective deodorant.
• One half cup of baking soda added to the wash makes clothes and towels smell fresh and feel soft.
