how long is a piece of string. the younger years are more difficult. i can give you an eg like 2 years ago friends of mine got one place for year 7 in bsak but not a year 6 place, she had to wait 1.5 years to get the year 6 place and the older years are easier to get.

which british school, the only british school in abu dhabi for a long while was BSAK, The British School Al Khubairat, but there is now BISAD British International School of Abu Dhabi, there are aldar schools which follow the british curriculum. Al Yasmina, Al Muna, The Pearl, Al Bateen. The other british curriculum school is Cambridge High School.

If you are talking about BSAK then yes there are usually more people than places, but no you cannot put your name down when they are 3. You can only register in the february for the september academic year.

Abu Dhabi has a problem with school places, not only british curriculum, but in other ones too. ACS which is the oldest american school has the same issues. It really does depend on the year group you are looking for. If you are looking for nursery and younger years then yes you will have a problem finding a place in any of the british curriculum schools in Abu Dhabi. This is because the aldar schools started taking applications in January and BSAK took applications in February, and they have already given out the places, and with loads more on the waiting lists.

Hi

I have heard that competition for a place at this school is pretty fierce. In London people were putting their childrens names down for schools when they turned 3. Is this the norm here?
