Not unless you consider attempts at the birdcage on a saturday night out in Manchester haha!

Ha ha oh I've been there! I did it for about 18 months before I was pregnant, and DD is 17 months now so its been a while! I do still get my pole out once in a while for practice but I must admit I'm pretty rusty!

Where abouts do you live?

Its at Level 1 Al Futtan Towers JBR. (No idea where this is, I'm a newbie in Media city)
AED 90 for single class AED 850 for block of ten....so pretty steep!

Have you done it before?

I'm debating whether this was a bit of fun, I'm new to Dubai though so don't know the areas....

Very true, just with being a newbie I'm a bit wary on what you can and can't do until I find my feet.

I've got my own pole that I've brought from the UK and a selection of DVDs, I did it for quite a long time so it's something I dont want to give up. Would be a shame to waste all the years of hard work

There is a page on facebook that you can actually order Carmen Electra's DVD and a pole for your home

It bugs me that people still see it as seedy - I hope they know it's now an international sport!

Yeh I have noticed everytime it is mentioned it suddenly vanishes. To practice in your ownhome, is that acceptable?

It's a topic that keeps trying to be discussed, but anything with the original name gets deleted. As far as I can remember there seemed only to be a lady in Abu Dhabi that teaches it.

I took up pole fit (or pole dancing) in England as a way to keep fit. Purely for excercise, nothing seedy what so ever. What are the thoughts on it here? Is it totally frowned upon? Its THE best way I have found to keep in shape and so much fun but not sure on the general concensus on it.

Any thoughts?

TIA
