do you know of another resort with similar rooming facility...
if yes, name it...
if no, move on to another post!!

we are not the human rights commission to decide on days in lieu, privacy entitlements, etc...

and neither are we OP's family to decide whether the maid's presence is to help with her kids or help with contraception!!

:-) thank u

OP: There are few junior suites or a villas in RAK that have many bedrooms (Cove, Hilton spa and resort, another hotel next to Barracuda - can't remember the name).
3 of them have many facilities (pools, spa, playground, restaurants, gym, etc) and a private beach for the hotel occupants.
I have been to the 3 locations WITH MY MAID and worked out well.
I am hoping to get more suggestions so I can plan my EID vacations.

loranaji - to answer you question, your best bet would be to book a junior suite in any of the five star hotels... the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, for example, have an Ocean Junior Suite room that has a separate living room area that has a sofa bed which your maid can use while you still have a semi-private room for yourselves and the kids...

I imagine the family could sight-see etc while the maid had some rest and privacy in the room. Not that its any of our business. If we don't see a need for it - then we obviously wouldnt take the maid on our holidays. This isn't our family, our maid, or our holiday - so its not really about anyone else feels a need for, except the OP and her family?

I believe she already mentioned that the rationale was to have someone available to mind the children when they went out at night.

Seems like a better option to me than what many people do - either leaving their kids with a hotel sitter they don't know, leaving the kids in bed alone, or getting drunk around the kids.

I thought all domestic help was entitled to private sleeping quarters? Is not having to sleep alongside your boss an extra or an entitlement?

Just wondering...would you give the maid a day off in lieu as looking after the children while you and your husband enjoy yourselves is not exactly a weekend off for her.

I think you will find most people will think that 2 young kids between 2 parents is not a lot to look after on a holiday. Going away as a parent of young kids always involves staying in room, raiding mini bar, once kids are asleep (and sometimes when awake!).

Two choices if you can't find a room like Miramar's, I would say:

1. Wait and save up and get a two-bed or get two rooms, one for you and your husband and the other one with maid and the kids.
2. Go on your holiday and leave the kids at home.

I would choose number 2 anytime. Just bring the kids to Wild Wadi the next weekend and they'll be happy! ;-)

yes the maid is to help us out with the kids they are young 3 and 4 cant leave them alone in room especially of we wana have a drink in the cafe at night or so.
and getting another room is too much expensive for us. when we were in Miramar resort the room was big and the sliding door worked ok with us with the maid, now we would like to go on to another resort. you know try a new place.

what-evs  replied :

maid in the same room!?! wtf!? that is so weird!

That actually made me laugh out loud what-Eva, I was thinking the same thing.

OP not that I'd judge anyone, and each to their own, but why would you want your house maid to come away with you for the weekend with your husband and kids? Is it to help you? Or do you feel bad leaving her behind?

It will really strengthen the employer/servant bond much more than a simple room divider. And certainly better than having to fork out to give the shadow a place of her own, or booking a two bedroom unit which, let's face it, is horrifically outrageous!

Can't you ask for a rollaway bed for your room? I am sure it will be ok for the maid.

yes that could be an option but i think extra bed are charged and some hotels dont give extra bed and a baby cot together. as i need a baby cot as well. the miramar had the sofa with no charges on the room.I was wondering if there is any other resort like that.
anyway thanks CAPTAIN AMERICA

Two years back I have been to Miramar Resort in Al Fujairah they had rooms with sofa bed and a sliding door as a divider between the sofa and master bed. it was great option as we are 2 adults having 2 kids and our house maid with us. this made us all comfortable. but I was not able to find another resort like this for a nice weekend.
Has anyone been in this situation, anybody knows of any other resort like Miramar or what other options have anyone used?
