snap!

Mine too (23 months so not advanced though), but I think a big part of it is utter boredom, being cooped up inside with summer. I have found if I make a huge effort to PLAY with him more, and have lots of playdates as well as finding as many ways a possible to burn energy (soft play etc) he is a much happier, much less whiney kid. I don't get much else done, but it beats the whining!

I've been reading up about this online, and most sites say it starts around 2yrs old and can last for years.

Well I suppose at least he's finally advanced beyond his age at something

It's not really a phase. Get used to it.

My LO who's 15 months old has started whining a lot when he wants something, or is over tired. Unfortunately it is far from endearing.

Is this a common phase for toddlers that are learning to communicate, or just part of his little personality.
