For some nationalities, it does indeed take months. Special consideration for business meetings, conventions, etc. don't seem to matter, either. After this process, when the visa is granted, if the applicant's planed trip to the USA isn't taken after all, this can be problematic for future consideration. (This happened to former colleagues of mine)

Depends on your nationality. Some people have theirs within 24 hours others take a few weeks or months.

For DH it took about 2-3 weeks for the visa to be ready and he did miss his exhibition cause of that. Just have to check the status every couple of days. Hope you get it soon.

HI All,

Anybody got USA visa recently?? How long did it take. My visa got approved and i received a yellow paper which included a number which i check online often to see wether my visa is ready. I need to travel next month and now it has been more than a week still my visa is under administrative processing. I,m afraid it might take couple of weeks and i might miss the opportunity to travel with my husband .he already has visa and going on a business trip.

Did anyone face a similar situation and how long did it take for your visa??
