My trick with aggressive drivers up my a$$ is to squirt my windscreen water. When they're ridiculously close they get it too which tends to annoy them and make them drop back

ive seen some shocking driving this week on the emirates road (which im back and forth twice daily from AR to school in Mirdiff) and to make it worse it was a police car. He tailgated me on the outside lane so i moved over and then he continued to tailgate other drivers until they moved over, when one car didnt move over the police car decided to weave in and out of several lanes to get back on the outside lane. as they say only in Dubai!!!

I hate the driving here. The sheer stupidity annoys me. I 100% agree with you on this simples about indicating. But have no choice, I venture onto the SZR on a daily basis......

Thanks Lemon, I will try to keep up. Drove to Carrefour tonight and actually pleased with myself as it was incident free and not too much traffic.

Like you Louise, I cannot stand it when people don't indicate, no consideration for other drivers.

But I'm still not sure whether I can drive by myself around these places. I don't want to give up either yet sometimes I think it's far better to let DH drive rather than suffer all the stress driving here causes. I just can't wait to get back home to the UK and buy a car and drive around London, even that place is better than here and no-one honks like they do here. Even thinking about it just makes my blood boil.

For those of you that do drive, keep safe ladies!

Whatever happened to you, Effy?

If someone tailgates me i keep my foot on the gas but touch the brake lightly (brake does not react, but brake light comes on) they get such a fright! hehehe

I also hate when people don't indicate!!! My name is not mystic meg......i can't read minds!!! grrrrrrr

I agree with you entirely about indicating, but OTOH, every time I signal my intention to change lanes I find the car behind the space I want to enter immediately speeds up and blocks my move. I think that's why people don't signal before manouevering, if they indicate their intention beforehand (as opposed to after they've done it!), they go precisely nowhere..

I love reading these posts after a terribly scary drive to work this morning I feel more human! I actually feel like I would consider getting a driver to drive me around so i dont get so stressed with the terrible terrible driving in the UAE. Does anyone have any suggestions. My DH has not got a driving licence so I drive everywhere and it is adding to my stress I feel so angry and on the verge of tears most mornings as the thought that people continue to try and kill me!! what is wrong with these people? HELP PLEASE!
