5 Benefits We Loved from the ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi

Last weekend, three of our team members participated in the ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi. It’s an event where professionals, serious amateurs and first timers competed on the same course as World Champions and Olympic medallists.

The event featured a variety of course and distance options consisting of swimming cycling and running. Here are some of the things our team members thought were a great payoff!

1. Met new people

Our team got to meet several amazing people, including the Egyptian triathlete Omar Nour who helped them with their race strategies.

2. Stepped out of our comfort zones

The triathlon truly pushed our team members to their physical limits. They trained their hardest and had to step outside of their comfort zone once it was time to participate in their very first triathlon.

3. Regular exercise now seems like nothing

The triathlon is so physically demanding that if you can survive it, you can easily do a regular workout. It’s really great motivation!

4. Got to be around some of the best athletes in the world

Not many of us can keep up with some of the amazing athletes that participated, but it’s still great to be taking part in the same event and seeing them at their best.

5. Bragging rights

We don’t like to brag but… you can’t deny it feels really good to say “Yeah, I’ve done a triathlon!”

Our team had a blast participating at the event and they plan on doing it again next! Here's what one of our team members, Kim, had to say about her experience:

"On race day, we were all full of adrenaline, very excited to see how the day would pan out for us. I am so glad we did it! The energy of fellow racers and volunteers made the ITU Triathlon such a memorable and fun experience that I will definitely sign up for it again."
