Alessandra Maria-Luigia O Polizzi Di Sorrentino is a British hotelier, and the ex-presenter of the British TV series The Hotel Inspector. She currently presents her own programme, 'Alex Polizzi - The Fixer' on BBC Two, which focuses on Polizzi turning around family businesses, not just hotels. Polizzi comes from a long line of hoteliers, her grandfather being Lord Forte. Her mother, the hotel designer Hon. Olga Polizzi, CBE, is Lord Forte's daughter and the sister of Sir Rocco Forte.
EW Says: We loved Alex trying to knock run down UK hotels into shape but love this program even more and this time she is tackling different family businesses; including a bridal shop, a bakery, a furniture store, an MOT garage and a posh dress store.
It is amazing to see how the owners of the stores are so dedicated to the business they have created that they can’t quite let go of the reins for the younger generation to take over. It is time for retirement for many of them as they have lost touch with modern retailing are actually doing more harm than good in some cases.
Alex has a tough job on her hands but always seems to pull through at the end and the businesses start to have increases in sales- which it is what it is all about at the end of the day.
The Fixer is intelligent and also heart- warming viewing.
