Dubai International Film Festival
Established in 2004, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) has been one of the leading events in the regions’ art and cultural scene.
With a goal of building cultural understanding through creative film productions, DIFF is an influential platform for Middle Eastern, Asian and African filmmakers by showcasing their work at an international level.
A major international festival, DIFF takes place in December with its 8th edition scheduled to take place between 7th and 14th December in 2011.
With a previous guest list of Hollywood and British stars such as Orlando Bloom, Colin Firth, Colin Farrell, acclaimed director Oliver Stone, Nicholas Cage, Salma Hayek, and Goldie Hawn interspersed with Arab names like Yasmina Khadra, Carmen Lebbos, and Sameer Ganem, in addition to Bollywood heavyweights such as Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Nandita Das, DIFF continues to live out its hopes of being the cultural bridge between the East and the West.
