Parking fines

The Azerbaijani police are quite strict when it comes to violating the parking laws of the land. The traffic police will issue a fine that is usually attached to the windscreen wiper of the car should they find a driver to be in contravention of the traffic laws.

There are also cameras around Baku that monitor the parking situation and should a car be illegally parked for more than five minutes it will be towed.

The fine will be sent to the vehicles owners place of residence along with the following information:

  • A picture of the car

  • The fine and place of payment

  • The place where the car is impounded (the state parking lot)

If your car has been impounded you can reclaim it only after you have paid the fine.

Parking fines should be paid within one month. If the driver fails to pay parking fines within two months the car will be impounded.
