Costs of Living in Bahrain

Bahrain has become a popular destination for expats from around the world. It's important to make sure that your salary is sufficient and will cover your expenses. We have listed the average prices, so you may be able to go cheaper or you may end up paying more. 

The largest expense in Bahrain will be accommodation. Rental costs can be rather high, depending on which area you want to live in. The prices have gone up in recent years and, although there is a 10 percent cap on annual increases, many landlords tend to ignore it. The Bahraini government owns the utility companies, therefore the costs of utilities are subsidized. Another major expense for expat families is education for their children. Expats need to go to private or international school as they can’t get in Bahraini public schools.
