There are multiple scientific studies that prove that fitness during or post pregnancy is recommended and beneficial to both mother and baby.
A few of the benefits include:
- Shorter first and second stages of labour.
- Increased pain tolerance for labour and delivery
- Lower incidences of intervention during labour.
- Good pelvic muscle tone resulting in less chance of tears or episiotomy and better pelvic muscle recovery.
In addition, physical activity during pregnancy boosts your immune system, helps prevent or reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, effectively controls weight gain, helps your postures, and aids in quicker post partum recovery.
For new mums, exercising helps you retrieve your energy quicker, reduces stress and anxiety postpartum and ultimately provides your children with a positive role model to follow with
healthy lifestyle habits.
Our programmes will take into account every participant’s personal circumstances. We will work with you on the workout that is right for your body. You will exercise with other pregnant women or new mums and will spend a much needed hour of ‘me time’ doing something positive for you and your baby!
Classes are outdoors in the cooler months and indoors in the summer. Babies are welcome and encouraged in the class.
