ULTRASOUND CAVITATION AT EUROMED
promises to several take centimeters off your muffin top in 3 to 5 session. This sounded too good to be true, so I had to try it for myself.
The basic principle in laywomen’s terms is that the ultrasound cavitation (The formation of an empty space within a solid object or body) breaks down the fat cells under the skin and the fatty acids drain away through your lymphatic system, into your kidneys and out of your body through urine and sweat.
Rebecca Treston works out of the new Euromed clinic on Beach Road. Eireen, Rebecca’s assistant talked me through the process and measured me in 3 points around my midriff, she marked the measured area with pen.
Eireen started with me on my side and proceeded to work on the “love handles” area. It is a funny feeling, a bit warm and a bit tingly, but really quite pleasant. Because ProSlimelt uses ultrasound, you can hear the vibrations in your ears, but no one else can hear them, quite strange….
I looked in the mirror at this point, and it did look tighter on the side she has done and I promise, it was not wishful thinking!! She then did the front on my stomach and then the other side. My skin was a bit blotchy, but nothing dramatic. The whole process took about 50 minutes.
We then moved onto the ProEllixe machine which is a bit like a power plate. Rebecca had me on there for about 10 minutes (I must say I really don’t like the vibration, it must be my brain rattling around!). This really helps the process by accelerating the drainage of the fat. You can really feel your blood rushing around, which must mean that the fat is rushing around too!
When Rebecca measured me, there was a definite difference on the tape, 1 to 1.5 centimeters less, mostly around the waistline, and that was after only one session. She said that the more fat you have, the more you will loose.
As with any of these treatments, you cannot expect have the treatment and then to lie on the sofa and eat Mars bars and loose fat (sadly!), you need to drink plenty to help the elimination process, eat a low fat diet and exercise preferably the day after your treatment. She said that sweating also helps evacuate the fatty acids, I was watching people around me at Body Pump the next day in case they were avoiding me because I smelt like a chip van ;)
