I was so excited to be asked to try out the VelaSmooth Pro and Venus New Life toning treatments at the wonderful Eternel MedSpa, as I could definitely do with some help! I have been on a diet since January and a healthy exercise program and have lost a lot of weight but I desperately needed some help with my jelly belly! I will admit to being sceptical as to whether treatments like these would have any effect but I made sure I approached my appointment with a totally open mind.

Eternel MedSpa is based on beach Road and is opposite Gate 5 of Jumeirah Beach Park- it’s really easy to find. You can park out the front of the spa in the driveway and leave your car keys with reception, in in case it needs moving- or there is plenty of parking just round the corner. The reception area is very modern and the key colours of turquoise and brown look great! I had to fill in forms about my state of health and health history and this was then discussed with my therapist. I was taken to one of the lovely treatment rooms for the VelaSmooth Pro treatment. You keep your underwear on and have your problem area measurements taken- my area of focus was the stomach of course!

I then lay back on the comfy table while the therapist and the machine worked their magic! The treatment felt warm and the massaging feeling of rolling and suction was actually very relaxing. After the session was finished my measurements were taken again and I had lost 5 cm off my waist and 7 cm from my jelly belly stomach! I could not believe it! I looked in the mirror and was shocked at how much flatter my stomach did look!

I was then whisked away for my next treatment the Venus New Life - once again I kept my underwear on whilst I had various electrodes attached to me. I was a little bit apprehensive at this point as have never had anything like this done to me ever before and I am a bit of a wimp - my therapist was wonderful and reassured me that it would not hurt in the slightest- so I felt calm after that! I had electrodes attached to my stomach, waist, hips, upper and inner thighs and then began the treatment.

It was a most unusual feeling- the B.E.A.M technology causes the muscles to contract and this was applied in waves- so approximately 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off in a wave like feeling. I actually quite enjoyed the sensation- the closest way of explaining it was it felt like pins and needles and a very mild cramp but with absolutely no pain whatsoever. It felt like I was doing hundreds of stomach crunches with no effort!

After this treatment I looked in the mirror and could not believe that my stomach was actually concave instead of convex for once! It was an amazing feeling to see it like that after trying so hard with diet and exercise for so long! You are recommended to have a series of both treatments to see long lasting results and I could see how this would definitely work in the long run alongside a healthy lifestyle. If you had a special event coming up a one off treatment the day before would also be good to look fab in that little black dress!

I would recommend these treatments if you have problem areas that you can’t seem to do anything with! Eternel MedSpa is a lovely, modern day spa with very friendly and experienced staff - I did not feel self conscious or embarrassed at all which is very important to me. These treatments have given me a much needed boost and my stomach is still looking flatter than it was one week later!

About The Treatments

VelaSmooth Pro

By employing the latest body contouring know-how, this non-invasive treatment is the ultimate cellulite buster. VelaSmooth Pro combines cutting-edge technologies to manipulate the superficial fat tissue layer that contributes to cellulite, leading to a smoother, less dimpled appearance. How does it work?

The treatment combines gentle light and radio frequency (RF, energies with mechanical rollers and vacuum suction to manipulate the superficial fat tissue layer and rid targeted areas of cellulite. Will I need more than one treatment?

For optimum results, a combination of six to eight treatments is recommended.

Venus New Life

The dream treatment for those who want to shape up without any effort, Venus New Life is better than a workout at the gym and promises fast visible results. As treatment imitates the body’s natural ability to remove fat by physical exercise, after just one treatment a reduction in body circumference will be noticeable.

How does it work?

Venus New Life uses innovative Bio Electrical Acceleration Management (B.E.A.M), technology to imitate the body’s natural pulses, causing muscles to contract. By stimulating muscle activation, blood circulation is increased and the metabolic rate is improved, ensuring the muscles in both the face and the body become more toned and any loose skin is tightened.

How is treatment administered?

Guided by the machine's computer, the therapist will place either small pads or probes on the area/s, to be treated. Each pad or probe is connected to the computer that controls the delivery of the treatment. Then just lie back and relax for up to 50 minutes while the prescriptive treatment takes effect.

Is it Painful?

Some clients experience a mild, tingling sensation as the muscles contract.

Will I need more than one treatment?

Although Venus New Life can reduce your abdominal circumference by as much as four centimetres in a single session, for optimum results, a course of treatments is recommended followed by a programme of maintenance treatments.
