Driverless Shuttles Coming To The Dubai Mall

Dubai has always been adding fun and new technology to our daily lives to make the city even more awesome than it already is. As usual, our inner geeks (and shopaholics) are celebrating after Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that The Dubai Mall will be getting driverless shuttles.

The fully autonomous vehicles will be transporting up to seven passengers at a time between an underground parking lot on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and The Dubai Mall.

The corridor is 550 metres long and will have three intersections. No launch date has been announced but we are expecting to start seeing the shuttles in 2018.

Talking of all things autonomous, the RTA has recently acquired a fleet of 50 Tesla X vehicles that are fully autonomous and safely droping Dubai residents to their destinations. Prepare to sit back and relax as your car drives you to your destination, leaving you to focus on more important things.

You can order one of the Tesla X cars from Uber, using the UberOne service.
