Dubai Residents Wake To A Blanket Of Fog

Residents woke this week to find a layer of dense fog floating between the skyscrapers of Dubai.

Surely a sign of the cooler months ahead, there's no arguing the fog is a welcomed relief for many of us who have survived the weather in Dubai over the summer months.

Many have taken to social media to share their delight in the fog's arrival, with man captioning their posts with #WinterIsComing.

Of course, as with every year, drivers and commuters are being urged to take extra care while travelling to and from work during rush hours - and to use fog lights appropriately.

Motorists are advised to drive at low speed, check the weather forecast for updates and avoid using any congested roads where possible. Plus, Dubai Police have deployed more patrols this week to ensure maximum road safety for all drivers, and to help deal with any emergency in the low visibility.

Despite the fog's appearance this morning, we can expect today to be hot in general during the daytime, and mild by night with some clouds and haziness - so says the National Center of Meteorology & Seismology's daily weather bulletin.

Clouds will form over some easter nareas, with light to moderate winds in general - which may cause some rising dust in exposed areas.

We can expect humidity to increase during the night, with fog expected to stay in the UAE until Thursday.
