The completion of the Dubai Frame has been long-awaited, with many delays and postponements. However, it seems like the wait is finally about to be over.

According to the Dubai Municipality, we can expect the Dubai Frame to launch in October 2017. This massive 150 metre-high, 193-metre long structure will be the newest landmark of Dubai.

Located in Zabeel Park, the project broke ground back in 2013 and was due to open in 2015, then it was postponed to end of 2016, which also needed to be pushed back once more.

In true Dubai fashion, the Dhs160 million project will be covered in gold cladding. It’s made up of two towers connected by a 100-square-metre bridge.

Once complete, visitors will be able to enjoy indoor spaces for exhibitions located on the ground floor. It’s expected to feature photographs of Old Dubai and Dubai’s evolution since the 60s till now.

Once visitors reach the end, they’ll find themselves at the main panoramic elevator, which will take them up all the way to the top floor. That’s where visitors will get a bird’s-eye view of Old Dubai from one side and the modern towers on the other side. It’s meant to show the contrast between the old and new Dubai.

About two million visitors annually are expected to enjoy this new landmark.
