Getting Your Vehicle Identification Pass

Everything you need to know about the vehicle identification pass in the UAE...

Say goodbye to long queues at petrol pumps across the UAE, as drivers can now expect to park up, fill up and drive off!

Yep, the days of fumbling around for cash or change in your glove box, or waiting for the card machine to work may now be over thanks to the introduction of the VIP scheme across the country.

What is a Vehicle Identification Pass?
The ViP system is completely automated and paperless, that allows drivers to refuel without the need for cash, fuel cards or receipts.

How do I get and install one?
Similar to the Salik tag you see in Dubai, the ViP is a tag - which costs AED 250 to install - that you display on your vehicle, and you may top it up at any time. Families can even set up all of the household's cars onto one account.

After every transaction, customers will receive an SMS and an email with the amount deducated and the remaining balance in their accounts.

How do I top my ViP up?
Top ups can be made with cash or card at stalls in all 112 ENOC/EPPCO service stations, or can be made online through your account.

Why should I install ViP in my car?
This entire process will speed up the refuelling delays so often seen at petrol stations across the UAE, and will allow customers to better manage their accounts and set budgets for each fuelling transaction.

Where do I install ViP in my car?
All 112 stations from the ENOC/EPPCO network will have a one-stop shop in which customers can purchase the ViP smart tag and get it installed on the vehicle, in one location.

How does it work?
ViP uses a technology that consists of a securely encoded electronic security tag mounted near the fuel tanks. This allows the nozzle to automatically recognise the fuelling preferences individuals have set for their car, calculate the amount of fuel filled from the dispenser, and deduct the money automatically from the registered ViP account.

It also uses radio-frequency to log in the details of the purchase at a secured database at ENOC, which calculates all parameters associated with the customer account.

What petrol station has a ViP system?
You may find all of the ViP registered service stations here.
