Sheikh Hamdan, or Fazza, as he is more fondly known as, is a huge influence on social media networks. With over 3 million followers on Instagram and recently voted as one of the top 100 'global personalities' on Snapchat, Fazza inspires his followers on a daily basis with insights into his life. 

 

Just by browsing his Instagram account (@faz3) alone, fans can clearly see his love for travelling, his love for nature and animals and of course, the loved ones who are closest to him. But besides being social media savvy, what else should you know about Sheikh Hamdan? Here's five reasons why we have major respect for the Crown Prince of Dubai, and no doubt afterwards you'll be a huge fan...

1. He is an ambassador for disabilities in the UAE
Back in 2015, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed donated his US$6 million winnings from the annual Dubai World Cup to help children with autism. He is also chairman of the the Dubai Autism Centre, whose mission is to help children with autism to integrate into the community through intervention, therapy and by creating social awareness. The centre itself is a non-profit organisation and is one of the largest of its kind in the UAE.

2. He's fearless
Not many of us could honestly admit that we'd be comfortable throwing ourselves out of a plane, or wing walking, or flyboarding, ziplining past Burj Khalifa, diving with elephants or trekking on glaciers. But when it comes to Fazza, the more terrifying it is, he's probably done it.

3. He reveals a side of Dubai we don't often see
We so often see of the glitz and glam lifestyles in Dubai, but Fazza istead often sheds light on a side of the Emirate we don't normally see. From the ancient sport of falcony - which is a sport he's doing his utmost to ensure lives on - to his visits to local schools, to camel racing and throwbacks to important dates in Dubai's history... These are just a few of the posts that are included in his social media accounts, which are full of inspiring and noteworthy posts that reveal the true side of the country.

4. He's just like us, and uses Snapchat frequently 
Really, what other royal in the world can you think of that shares their lifestyles so openly on social media? When he's bored, or on his adventures, he snaps a picture and sends it to his (thousands of) friends and followers. Pretty normal, right? Indeed, he's racked up a lot more followers than most of us, but still... We love watching and following what he's up to!

5. He's an incredible athlete
Seriously, we have difficulty getting to the gym on a daily basis. But this guy once took home the gold medal in a 160km endurance ride, after competing against a 226 other riders from 41 different countries. Plus, he's a passionate freediver (which includes holding your breath for long periods of time), and enjoys everything from swimming, to cycling, to snowboarding, running and even tennis.
