The UAE is Getting Its First Outdoor Dog Park in February

Dog owners should start training their dogs to enjoy long road trips… The UAE’s first outdoor dog park is opening in Ras Al Khaimah in February 1st, 2018 and it is going to be 7000 square metres of pure awesomeness!

The park will be located in Al Jazeera Al Hamra area at the RAK Animal Welfare Centre (RAKAWC) and will be a space where pets can socialise with one another and enjoy the outdoor weather.

RAKAWC According to Dr Chenjerai Sigauke, the manager and Head Veterinarian, the park will feature off-leash areas where dogs can run freely and play, a dog walking path and a fully equipped agility park and swimming pool.

There will also be an area for pet related activities such as pet birthday parties, pet shows and training. In addition to all of the facilities mentioned above, there will also be a doggy day care and a pet hotel for your pooch.

We are still waiting for the prices to be announced for the park but we do know that there will be day passes as well as monthly and yearly membership packages available.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes will be allowed within the park but there are separate areas for small dogs weighing less than 10kg and big dogs, just to make sure that fluffy doesn’t get run over…

You also don’t need to worry about a bully on the playground. All dogs need to undergo a behaviour assessment before entering the park to assure their temperament is acceptable.

The park was built by the government of Ras Al Khaimah to offer a space for dogs to play freely without any restrictions or the danger of moving cars. It is also a place where likeminded people can gather, socialise, share tips and make new friends.

On behalf of all the pet owners in the UAE, and their pets, thank you Shaikh Saudi Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and the Ras Al Khaimah government!
