Restaurant Review:
The Raffles Roast at Azur

Hotel Raffles in Dubai

The Raffles roast on a Friday is the closest I have tasted in 6 years of being here too a true British Sunday Roast.

British Roast at Azur, Raffles, DubaiThe selection of starters was fantastic with prawn cocktail, smoked salmon and herring, scotch eggs, quiches and foie gras to name just a few. All of this is accompanied by a cross section of fresh salads. We moved onto the main course, which instead of just having one choice of roast meat there was a vast selection. The extensive carvery had lamb, turkey, beef, pork and salmon en croute all beautifully cooked and served by the knowledgeable kitchen team.

The meats were accompanied by all classic vegetables including roasted potatoes cooked in dripping which were divine, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese and a stunning creamed spinach. As well as the selection of vegetables the Yorkshire puddings that were freshly made were amazing and topped off the roast.

Once my partner and I finished the roast we needed a well-earned break before attempting desert. As soon as we were able to eat again we tucked into the lovely array of home cooked deserts. I opted for the Rhubarb crumble and custard and my partner went for Eaton mess and Carrot cake again they were outstanding some of the best deserts I have tasted.

The overall quality of the food and the friendly family atmosphere with great service puts this brunch into a league of its own. The selection of dishes is spot on and not overwhelming like many brunches and the roast theme is executed fantastically. I would say it’s the best British cooking I have had in Dubai.

I would recommend everyone to try this family friendly brunch and I guarantee you will be booking to come back again I know I will.
