The Broadwalk at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club

Gosh! What a superb location to show off Dubai in all her glory. If you are looking for somewhere relaxing with good food, then the Broadwalk is the place, it’s a sure fire bet to impress all the visitors.

When I visited the welcome was warm, the service relaxed and the food plentiful. To begin with we were shown our table in a comfy corner over the water looking out across the creek to the stunning Dubai skyline. Whilst we took time to soak up the atmosphere our drinks were delivered promptly. I highly recommend the lemon mint, most refreshing and reasonably priced. The wine was very quaffable. For starters we had chicken nachos, a great favourite and very well presented with onions, peppers, char grilled chicken and a variety of cheeses on top. Unfortunately my friend was not so impressed with the fact it was smothered in squeezy cheese. A word of warning the portion size was HUGE! Definitely one to share. My other friend had Asian fish balls. These were deep fried, gently spiced and well presented. I had Bhelpuri, a dish completely new to me. This dish was made up of puffed rice spiced, with very finely chopped onions and chillies. 3 dipping sauces were served on the side. I thoroughly enjoyed this unusual starter although it was a little too spicy for the others. Again the portions were huge. It was just a little disappointing that 2 of our original 3 starters were not available.

Mains were varied. The duck breast with wedges, served on a bed of stir fried vegetables, was properly pink and well tasting but with an ugly layer of fat. Normally this would be removed before serving or crisped, so it came as an unexpected surprise. Nevertheless it was a very well received meal. Still on the duck theme the other friend had duck pancake roll. Again, a super huge portion of two very tasty and well filled rolls. This meal definitely impressed. Finally Indonesian grilled prawns, served on skewers, rolled in coconut and some very tasty spices. These lovely prawns were served with fragrant rice with nuts and fried egg on top, in classic nasi goring style. Delightful.

Would we have room after all this for desert? Well we just about did and we were very glad we made room. New York lime cheesecake, “I am so glad I had this” was the quote. The tangy lime with the apricot coulis and the tart strawberries all made for a sublime desert. Mic Mac chocolate. The presentation of this was wonderful, 3 tiny chocolate boxes each filled with a different flavour and the best banana ice cream I have ever tasted served on the side. Last but by no means least Creek sizzling pudding. Two slices of the moistest cake served on a sizzling platter with a nut sauce poured over to sizzle and absorb into the cake, with more lovely ice cream.

Our neighbours were drinking coffee and it smelt divine but to be honest we were just too full. A delightful setting, relaxed service, casual interesting food shared with friends. Will I be going back? Yes and very soon.
