Zuma

My husband and I recently enjoyed a very pleasant Friday afternoon indulging in the first class Japanese cuisine offered by Zuma restaurant. I was all the more excited at the prospect, coming from the UK, as I’d picked up a copy of Hello at the airport and there was a feature on Princess Eugenie’s birthday party at Zuma in London…. If it’s good enough for royalty, then we’d be happy to give it a try ;-)

Dubai REstaurants, experience Zuma for the best in modern Japanese food

Located at DIFC’s Gate Village, this large open-plan restaurant has an elegant minimalist design but creates a relaxed dining atmosphere. Given the high level of staffing the restaurant offers an ideal setting for either a celebration or just a comfortable meal for two. The restaurant is split across three floors which creates space but doesn’t leave you feeling lost.

Zuma has two open kitchens with a Sushi Counter and dedicated sushi chefs, who are great to watch creating the dishes, as well as The Robata Grill. On Friday afternoons, brunch is available from 11.00 -4.00pm which is fully inclusive of their full range from both these counters. You start with miso soup brought to your table, help yourself to the grill and/or the sushi, and select your main course which is freshly prepared and brought to your table.

My husband loves sushi and was delighted to find all his favourite dishes. For the uninitiated, like myself, the range of choice available and the opportunity to try out many new things provided a Dubai Restaurants, Zuma family restaurant offing the best in Japanese cuisinegreat experience. The Robata Grill ensures there is plenty to choose from even if you want to avoid sushi altogether. Freshly made omelette with your choice of ingredients, the lightest I have ever tasted, along with Japanese prepared salads and risotto’s ensures a culinary delight for everyone. For me though, the steady flow of Japanese specialities that are brought to the table to try throughout the afternoon meant I left feeling fully initiated in Japanese cuisine; not all dishes were to my taste but I discovered some completely new tastes I will know to order again.

Children are welcomed at the restaurant and are encouraged to try out the full brunch menu, which again, is great for introducing new dishes. On request, noodles or pasta can be prepared for them if required. For younger children there is a dedicated babysitter who will entertain them in a separate room, furnished with TV, books and soft toys. The room with its glass walls can be seen from the dining space so you are able to enjoy your meal whilst keeping a watchful eye on them.

To end the meal there is a dessert bar which will be loved by all, with its vast range of cakes, and other treats ranging from candy floss to freshly cooked crepes.
