VISS Wins 'Best Rookie Team' in F1 Schools National Competition
‘The Future Match’ has walked away with the “Best Rookie Team” award in this year's F1 in Schools championship in Abu Dhabi. The two teams ‘The Future Match’ and ‘The Extreme Stars’ represented VISS at the championship. The two teams, comprising six students each from grade 5 at the Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS), headed off to Yas Marina Circuit to compete in the annual Junior F1 in Schools UAE National Championship against seventeen teams from across the UAE.

VISS Performs 'Sheherazade One Thousand and One Nights'
Last week, the junior school at VISS performed Sheherazade One Thousand and One Nights’ to a packed and enthusiastic audience. The students, who were aged from 9-11, performing so confidently on stage and shared their singing, dancing and acting talents to create a wonderful school performance.

VISS graduates score well above the Australian (Victorian) average
Students at Victoria International School Sharjah (VISS) gained exceptional results in Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) , with many students achieving A and A+ grades in their examinations, across a number of subject areas. Of particular note was the fact that of the four students sitting the English examination, two achieved an A+ and another achieved an A+ for his English as a Second Language paper. Read more>>

Jumeirah Primary School (JPS) Movember Shave Off!
We caught up with the news from JPS School in Dubai about the male staff and parents having a big "shave off" event of their Movember Moustaches that they had been growing to raise awareness for men's cancer and to also raise money for cancer charities.
This really is a great cause for the school to support- they had great fun watching the progress of the men's moustaches, learnt an important lesson and also did some great work for the charity. Great to see schools in Dubai getting behind causes ike these. Read More>>
Green Fingers and Recycling at DESC Dubai
Dubai English Speaking College, based in Academic City, created a school garden in the college grounds, two years ago, as part of its Green initiative for students.
The plan included providing recycling boxes for paper in all classrooms, supplying bio-degradable packaging in the school canteen and reducing the use of unnecessary lighting by displaying signs reminding everyone in school to switch off the lights when they’re finished.
