desc dubaiDubai English Speaking College’s Community Garden is a ‘Class’ Creation
Dubai English Speaking College has created an innovative Desert Forest Garden Outdoor Classroom at its Academic City Campus. The project, under the guidance of teacher, Gaina Dunsire, has been achieved through funding from the volunteer parent’s association, Friends of Dubai English Speaking College (FDESC), as well as a community tree sponsorship initiative and the College itself. The tree sponsorship was launched last week and began in earnest with students and parents planting their own trees in the garden on Planting Day - Monday, 25 March. Find Out More>>

A North Yorkshire school is celebrating record-breaking results at A-Level. Queen Ethelburga’s College near Boroughbridge has repeated its 100% overall pass rate for its Year 13 pupils but has seen its average UCAS points score per student increase so considerably it could become one of the top 50 schools in the country. In the College, Year 13 students averaged at 491 UCAS points – the equivalent to 4 A Grades at A-Level, with the percentage of students gaining Grades A* to B at 93%. Read More>>

‘The Future Match’ has walked away with the “Best Rookie Team” award in this year's F1 in Schools championship in Abu Dhabi. The two teams ‘The Future Match’ and ‘The Extreme Stars’ represented VISS at the championship. The two teams, comprising six students each from grade 5 at the Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS), headed off to Yas Marina Circuit to compete in the annual Junior F1 in Schools UAE National Championship against seventeen teams from across the UAE. Dubai English Speaking College, based in Academic City, created a school garden in the college grounds, two years ago, as part of its Green initiative for students. The plan included providing recycling boxes for paper in all classrooms, supplying bio-degradable packaging in the school canteen and reducing the use of unnecessary lighting by displaying signs reminding everyone in school to switch off the lights when they’re finished.
