Our Top 10 Summer Must-Haves

The start of summer is the perfect time to get inspired by some of the latest trends and splash out at the mall to revamp your look. These top ten summer fashion must haves give a short insight into what’s happening in the world of fashion at the moment.

1. Kimonos
The traditional Japanese garment has boomed in the fashion industry over the past year. The ancient look has been adapted for the modern woman and acts as the perfect, light robe to throw on over any outfit. The jacket style piece falls to the waist with short, billowing sleeves and typically comes in a range of floral patterns. Perfect to keep you cool and fashionable in the hot Dubai sun.

2. Sandals
No longer seen as geeky and masculine, a colourful twist on the common sandal has landed them in everyone’s shopping baskets. Whether you’re heading to the beach or walking round the mall, this new wear-everywhere footwear will always have your feet in the right place at the right time. For those more outgoing fashion types, flash back to the 90s with jelly sandals and be sure to make your friends ‘jelly’.

Get your sunglasses on!

3. One piece swimming costumes
Often overlooked, the one piece is making its way back into fashion and the original prints and styles are pushing it ahead of the bikini. If you’re slightly insecure about your figure, a one piece will hide any stomach issues whilst still outlining your feminine form. From scooping backs to deep V fronts, the one piece has been adapted for elegance and fun with a large range of styles and cuts to suit your body shape.  With a larger amount of material to work with, the prints are more vibrant and interesting making your swimsuit stand out from the rest.

4. Sunglasses, of course!
The key accessory of every girl’s outfit, sunglasses can make or break a look so make sure that you get it right! Reflective sunglasses are making a comeback, particularly vintage style worn by the likes of famous popstar, Katy Perry. This unique style has made its way from sporting wear, like skiing, to the fashion world; few people wear them so get in on the trend early.

5. White is the new black
The crisp colour will act as a refreshing detox to the rest of your wardrobe, whilst also reflecting the sun’s rays to keep you cool. Shops are bang on trend with this and have vast lines of white clothing to suit everyone’s taste.

6. Matchy Matchy
Coordinates have gone viral. The short-top or skirt-top pairing has taken the fashion world by storm with its popping prints and cute cuts. An instantaneous outfit, just like a dress, coordinates give you the freedom to mix and match whilst having an eye catching two-piece combination (without the need to worry about clashing prints!)

7. Skorts
The lovechild of skirts and shorts, this sporty style hybrid is the new going out garment. For formal to casual occasions, snakeskin print (as seen on the high street) can be perfect for going out whilst more vibrant, floral patterns are great for daywear. The short element of them means your legs are free to bronze in the sun and stay cool whilst the exposed midriff flatters your shape.

8. Plimsolls
They’ve been revamped since primary school, trust us. The androgynous look is very popular with teens worldwide, with a large market of patterns, colours and textures. They are easy to slip on making them perfect for active teens and their low price means you can never have too many styles to choose between.

9. Pleats please
No, not bad ironing. This sport inspired look, from knife to crystal pleats, takes advantage of the weather by rippling in the wind. A longer, pleated skirt can be quite daring by going in the opposite direction of most skirts. It is a very feminine look and combined with a slim fitting top can be flattering for the figure.

10. Loud labels
Graphic tees and loud slogans are blaring out of shops at the moment. These staple tops combined with the upcoming tomboy trend feature eye-catching captions. Try to avoid the obscene or irrelevant but a cheerful slogan can be a fun addition to your outfit.
