Meet the Halal Travellers
Since Travel Counsellors UAE launched in 2012 they have gone from strength to strength, and recently 2 of their 45 Franchisees Zakiya Habib and Naeem Patelia achieved the highly acclaimed CrescentRating Accreditation. CrescentRating is the world’s leading authority on Halal travel, and this status puts the leading, independent travel company firmly on the Muslim travel map.

Zakiya Habib

Zakiya believes that travel has evolved and so has the Muslim traveller. “In the past Muslim travellers faced great difficulty travelling around the world and maintaining their Islamic requirements at the same time. Often Muslim travellers were offered inferior accommodation and service which would spoil the trip and leave the traveller with memories they would rather forget. Today that has changed”. Zakiya works with some of the most prestigious hotels and Destination Management Companies to tailor make packages that provide the best quality and service while focusing on the Muslim traveller’s requirements at all times. Whether you are looking for an exciting adventure to a far out location, skiing in the best locations in Europe, exploring different cultures and experiences or just relaxing on the beach to soak up the sun, Zakiya is there to create a bespoke itinerary for you while always keeping your Islamic values and requirements at the forefront of everything that she does.

Naeem Patelia

Naeem’s extensive travel experience enables him to provide Muslim travellers with reliable and sound advice on many faith-based aspects of travel, such as the availability of Halal food and prayer facilities whilst exploring the world.  Naeem said: “I am proud to be CrescentRating Accredited.  I’ve worked extremely hard over my years as a Travel Counsellor to build personal relationships with my customers so I can offer an exceptional, bespoke travel service, keeping Islamic requirements and values at the forefront.  That’s why my customers come back to me time and time again, for both faith-based and non-faith-based travel”.

Naeem has a very mixed customer based and his expertise extends beyond Muslim travel, with the majority of his business coming from leisure travellers looking for everything from family beach getaways to romantic city breaks.

Harvey Lines, General Manager said “I am extremely proud of both Zakiya and Naeem for accomplishing the CrescentRating accreditation. With Halal travellers expected to spend over USD180bn by 2018, it is critical that Travel Counsellors as a business develops a deep cultural understanding of this growing market segment and having 2 of our team accredited by CrescentRating demonstrates our commitment to delivering the perfect travel experience and the very highest level of care to our valued Muslim travellers”
