Hi
Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat and would also appreciate a buddy in the same boat? I have had the suppression treatment and start the stimulation part on Wednesday. Would love to hear from anyone else around the same stage.
Thanks

hi dubai71,

If you go to fertility friends website (http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=366.0) you will likely to find cycle buddy. May I ask which clinic your receiving your treatment from?

All the best.

yeah I did have success (got a beautiful little boy), and you will find many others on that website, who are going to Dr Fakih and all the IVF clinics in the UAE. Its great, most of my friends here in Dubai, I made through Dr Fakih's clinic. Infact one of my friends from there will be giving birth hopefully tonight . He is very good and I wish you all the best. If you want you can email me, if you have any questions, or even just for a chat. It is nice talking to people who have gone are going through the same experience.

Let me know if you want to exchange email.

Again I wish you all best, I hope you get pregnant soon.

Hi Dubai71
I'm in the middle of my first IVF cycle too, finished 2 weeks of suppression and now doing stimulation so I think we're about the same stage.
How's it going for you? :-)

Wow! Hello nicecuppatea. So lovely to hear from you How's it going for you and which clinic are you going to? I have had a pretty roller coaster time but if it works will be worth every moment of it. I have my transfer on Saturday. Apparently 4 eggs (out of the 8 retrieved) have fertilised and they were undergoing genetic testing today- results tomorrow night. Really, really hope it all goes well for you. x

it's definitely no walk in the park so if you are young enough and there is the possibility of natural conception i'd agree with the doc. good luck!

You must be so happy that 4 eggs have fertilized Dubai71! Good luck tonight with the results and I hope your transfer goes really well. I'm at DGFC in healthcare city - pretty happy with them, how about you?
What was the egg retrieval like? I'm ridiculously nervous about it, my doc said I'll be sedated and 'asleep' but I'm still worried that the actual procedure itself will hurt...! Wish you all the best for tonight and tomorrow x
PS Does the 71 stand for 1971? In that case we're roughly the same age too :-)

I thought the retrieval was ok. Didn't know anything about the procedure itself due to sedation. Afterwards for me it was a bit like having a sore period but the next day I felt grand. Am sure you'll be fine too.
How's the stimulation going? Are you injecting yourself?
Thanks for your wishes.
x (yes, 1971!)

That doesn't sound too bad, thanks - feel much less nervous now!
Really hope your transfer went well today, did your doc tell you to stay in bed for a few days or can you carry on as normal? Did you see the embryos on screen? How are you feeling and when can you test?!
Stimulation's ok thanks... although the doses are pretty high this time (I've done 3 x IUIs with injectables before this on lower doses). Been feeling ok just a bit tired and bloated, my husband does the injections, I'm too much of a wimp to do them myself
Going for a scan tomorrow so am hoping my follicles have grown a bit more and we can do IVF this time
Take it easy 71 x

Morning
Hope the scan goes well today... keep me posted.
They transferred 3 yesterday- seeing them on screen was pretty emotional. I was told to take it easy yesterday but I am going to take it easy today also as want to be careful. Also my tummy is slightly tender, which I am, of course, hoping is a good sign. I have been told no *** or exercise for at least 12 days (implantation time). I was told no exercise in the whole stimulation phase so irrespective of whatever the outcome I am going to be fat!
Good luck...
x

Hi girls!
I'm in my first round of IVF too (at DGFC) and on day 14 of stimulation. I've been fine up until now but the last two days have been really uncomfortable, i feel like i've got a corset on after a big roast. I'm definitely ready to have the eggs taken out now!! Had my third scan this morning and a blood test so going in later today to find out when the retrieval will be - hopefully in the next two days The biggest was 20mm!

Good luck with the next two weeks Dubai71 - the wait is going to be so hard, but so exciting.. fingers crossed for you and all of us xx

Hello TubeStrike

Nice to have someone else! Mine varied between 18 and 22mm when I had the retrieval so it sounds like you're there. I stopped the shots a day before the retrieval. Good luck.

My stomach feels really tender, trying not to read too much into it. I also feel really tired but I don't know whether that's my brain trying to shut down as there is so much going on at the moment with this and my Mum and brother not being well. Am just going to laze on the sofa and cheer on Murray!

Hi TubeStrike! x
Dubai 71 - glad to hear the transfer went well, I bet it was amazing seeing them on screen.
My scan went really well - 15 follicles and all around 10-14 so a few more days for me and an increase in meds. Think my egg retrieval will be on Thurs if all goes well.
Sorry to hear your mum and brother aren't well, are they in Dubai?
Wish you all the best with the next few weeks, good idea about taking it easy for an extra day, think I might do the same when it's my turn!

Was a huge relief today - was so worried they wouldn't be big enough but they're getting there now!
Not sure whether you're trying anything else to support IVF, I'm doing acupuncture which is great to help counteract all the side effects and my therapist also gave me a meditation cd which is brilliant if you're feeling a bit low or stressed. I'm not the meditating type but it's really working for me :-) might be good to help you through the waiting bit.

Another hurdle jumped... you're ticking them all off ;0)

No, I'm not doing anything else- silly in hindsight. Stupidly also not getting much support- I told 2 friends here the details: one is great and would be there if I asked, the other is disappointingly self-absorbed and so FA use. Don't really want to bother people at home about it as there is so little they can do from a distance. That's why I have found peoples' input on this forum so helpful. Would defintely do it all differently if I had to do it again but please God I won't need to...

Hi Ladies, I hope everything goes well for you all.

Can you tell me which acupuncturist you use and the CD. I have not started treatment yet but think I will definitely need something to help me relax. I have been told acupuncture can help with the treatment.

TIA

Thanks Serendipity!
I started doing acupuncture with Dr Ou and have moved to Dr Martine who is based at Synergy Clinic on Al Wasl Road. They're both really good and for me it really helps with stress, some of the side effects like feeling hot, nausea etc as well as supporting the actual treatment itself. Martine gave me the meditation cd too - I think it's called Feeling Peace.
All the best with your treatment!

Wish all you ladies the best of luck. The best advice I can give is be very relaxed and take it easy starting the day BEFORE your transfer. Think good thoughts, ask to remain reclined for 15 minutes after the procedure and try to stay rested and lay down as much as you can the first 3 days. There are some good yoga exercises that help you relax and open up the uterus and increase chances for implantation (or so they claim). If anything it will calm you down and help you get over the anxiety. But overall, as difficult as it is, it is worth every ounce of pain and frustration!

Hi ladies, thought i'd let you know i had my retrieval today - it went really well and i produced 10 eggs woohoo!
Have spent most of the day asleep and to be honest with you, the hardest thing about it was not having a glass of water.. the procedure was really quick and I knew nothing about it!

Great to read your advice Mommy of twins and good luck Serendipity and Nicecuppatea with your retrievals xx
Dubai71, how long left to wait now? And did you manage to squeeze in a night out between retrieval & transfer?
Thinking of you all x

Hello TubeStrike

Get you, you little hen producing all those eggs. Now we just need them to get jiggy with DH's little chaps and fertilise
Bloomin' right I managed to squeeze a night out in this stage!! I was on a 5 day transfer and my logic was loads of people would be far worse behaved (i.e. those not requiring scientific help to get up the duff) than we're being at the moment. Have one (or two!) for me!
I'm not liking this 2 week wait at all. Nay happy. Getting blood test on Monday. Have done the home tests but got BFN- everyone keeps telling em too early (transfer was Saturday). I really, really hope so.

Loving the idea of a cheeky night out in between collection and transfer!! Exactly what I need.
TubeStrike - sounds like EC went really well, great news
Dubai71 - sorry you've had bfn on the home tests, you do read all the time that girls test negative at home but have positive blood tests, have got everything crossed for a BFP for you for Monday x
I have my EC on Sunday - hope it goes ok, bit nervous about the procedure and the results...

Hi girls! No night out for me either - having posted that chirpy 'post retrieval' message I then ended up in bed for four days with mild OHSS Anyway, am on the mend now but was supposed to have my transfer today but my embies are not growing quickly enough.. Am really sad and won't know until tomorrow (day 6) whether they will do the transfer or cancel it for this round. Trying to be really brave but feel really sad and having felt so ill the last few days just want to cry.. meeting doc first thing tomorrow so hopefully the lazy little embies have got a spurt on in the night! Otherwise i will definitely be having a large night out this weekend to commiserate! Gosh it's a bumpy road hey girls? x

Dubai71, how did it go? Hope you got a BFP - sending hugs! xx
