I use the Emirates NBD Dnata Platinum credit card. All reward points earned through spends on this credit card have a dirham value of AED1. So all your reward points earned at the end of the month can be exchanged like cash for any airline ticket at Dnata and they sell over 130 airlines. I am v happy with this credit card and highly recommend it.

Would it not be better if companies gave up these programs and gave us cheaper flights.

I have a shed load of Virgin points which I also seem to be unable to use for reward flights, so the the situation may be no better with other airlines. Sorry, that doesn't help you...it's just me ranting!

Hi I'm looking for recommendations for airline frequent flyers programs which actually work! For many years my husband & I have travelled almost exclusively with Emirates. However, since 'enhancements' were made to their skywards scheme, we've been unable to book reward flights on 4 occasions as there is never any availability for their saver reward flights. (40k miles rather than 77k miles). Currently there are no saver returns to the UK from the end of June through to the end of Sept!!! Whilst we have miles to use we can't use them! Does anybody have another airline they support whose reward scheme is usable? I'd be really grateful for suggestions!
