From what I have heard, you must pay for a new e-gate. We have just renewed visas, ID cards etc and nothing is transferable. Money making I think!

I have both and it was never even mentioned/offered to me to do it...

am considering to add the egate to the UAE ID in case I misplace the egate I don't have to stay off work until I get another... wonder if it's possible to have them both 'active' at once?? hmmm

Well I did add it to my old card so I was was wondering if my new card is then automatically enabled. I'm probably being overoptimistic Big Grin

doubt it i think you had to add it to your id card, you could still have an egate card as well as your id card, i am sure that it costs less to add egate to id than to have a separate egate card.

Hi ladies, I finally picked up my new Emirates ID card today after my old one expired. Nobody seems to be able to tell me if my e-gate access will be transferred from the old card to the new one. Does anyone know for sure? TIA
