Just to let you all know that Dr Bassem was great with my son; he was thorough and has decided to wait a little longet to prescribe glasses. Thanks a lot to everyone who helped

Maple, thanks for the number.
The number is 44238888. I called and got an appointment just a few minutes back and as chocfish said the doctor's name is Dr Bassem. If they tell you someone will call back its better you insist on taking the appointment; I wasted two days waiting for a call. Thanks for the help RachelA and chocfish.
Hello ladies. Could you please provide the phone number? The one I have is no longer working and I need to make an appointment for my DD. Also is Dr. Gamal an optometrist or opthalmologist? Thanks in advance.
Thanks chocfish, I called two days ago and was told by the receptionist that they would call me back with an appointment, But no news so far.

Hi there, it's Dr Bassem Gamal. We just had our first appointment with him and I was very happy. He gives out lollipops so the children think it's all great!

Sorry I don't. But if you give them a call (or go there to book) and explain its for a young child, I'm pretty sure they'll connect you to a Dr. who treats kids.
Thanks for the reply RachelA. Any chance you remember the name of the doctor who saw your son?
I would head to Maghrabi (the hospital, not the optician) on D Ring Road. They are opthamology specialists, and the times I've been I've seen many young children. Have been treated there myself as has DS, and I definitely recommend.
I really need a recommendation as my youngest needs to have his eyes checked. Had him checked last summer back home and although he already needed the glasses, the doctor felt it was better to give him a few more months ( he was just over two at the time) for various reasons. I remember reading good things on this forum about Dr Alexander but cant recall much more than that. Thanks.
