Hi, after searching long and hard I have found a job. It's through an agency... Well a website. They have emailed me to say that my cv has been short listed. However, they want $85 Canadian to go any further?! Is this normal. Apparently the $85 covers all applications for jobs on the site and if I don't accept a job within 6 months than I can apply for a refund?

Something just doesn't ring true for me. However, I haven't applied for a job here so this may just be the way things are?

The website is dubaijobs.net

Sorry hun, but they are a fairly well known fake.... if you have to pay a recruiter it is generally dodgy, but they have been around for a while- I looked at them too. Sorry, but I hope that helps!

No reputable agency here, or anywhere else, will ask you for money. They get commission from clients when they place you, so please don't send them any money, especially if you haven't even had an interview with the company WITH the job. What are you after? I know quite a few people with vacancies (genuine!) at the moment, so may be able to help...

I also looked at some dodgy websites or ads, as well as on dubizzle, where many of the jobs look too good to be true. it is so hard to find a job here, especially when you have first to identify which posted job is genuine or not. Good luck to you OP.
Pinks, any part time positions you may know? Thanks

Oh I feel so stupid now. You know I thought it sounded dodgy! Shame.

Pinks, not sure if you can help. It was for a "gold dust" part time job. I am in QHSE but this was a pt admin job. I can email you my cv?

Oh man what a fool I am.

Thanks ladies

It's illegal for recruitment companies to charge candidates
