Good luck!

Yep, I know someone who has done this and she is not in any of them professions. Its something about meeting salary requirements and probably depends case by case.

Why does my hubby insist on watching TV programmes that are all food related - When he knows I am on a strict diet to loose the 6kg I put on whilst on summer hols. All it is doing is making me want to go and gorge on yummy scrummy fattening stuff. Grrrrrr he is annoying me. AND he is having a drink and I am on water. Humph and big sulks.

Don't worry, do it your way, if she wants the job she will turn around. If not then fire her sorry a$$ and get a new one, and start as you mean to go on.

Wood furniture seems to be the main issues for customs. If you label everything and then get them fumigated if required at the port in Oz it should be fine (they're pedantic about wood ants or lice or something).

Adelaide is beautiful... and there are some lovely wineries around there Big Grin

I know the Principle at Winchester... fantastic guy and from what I understand, great school!

Can't help with any other details... but I might sneak into your luggage Big Grin

Revels, we moved to Oz 4 years ago and had plenty of Teak furniture and carvings from Africa, they were not unduly worried. They may have a cursory look for borer but certainly did not inspect it all. What they freaked out about... and no on told us ... was Christmas decorations. Anything with pine cones, seeds etc. do not take anything like that and animal hair on anything, cushions or carpets. Have them cleaned and sealed. Good luck.

Now that you wont need a divorce lawyer all should go well !!!!

Your daughter has a school majorly impotant task accomplished !! You will find somewhere to stay, sooner or later. ( looks like later) but it will come about. As for bringing the furniture that you hate ??? Why!! If yove put up with it this long surely its an oppotunity to get what you like ( get the divorce lawyers number out again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) You can get stuff here relatively cheaply if you buy used furniture. We got a lovely 3 & 2 seater leather sofas very reasonable. Anyway if I can help in anyway let me know. Not nearly as knowledgeable as many of these ladies but very willing.not sure how long I will be here. Now take deep breaths....... remember different place different ways... Things take time & patience here. Having said that most things have gone extremely well for us. Good luck God bless

Although our Panasonic plasmas were working fine in the UKas bought in the UK (only one year old), the sound did not work here as the frequency was different. We solved the problem by connecting our Tvs to a home cinema bought here. They can be bought cheaply.

OK I am going to get shot here but , no woman (especially when her father is a UAE National) in her right mind goes to a private party in RAK in a private rented villa, these parties are normal on the local scene and some of the stuff that happens would make your hair curl but she should have known better, also I have to ask where were here friends when all of this was happening, if I was at a party and a guy wanted to talk to my firend outside I would have gone out to check on her, sorry so much of this story does not ring true,

Oh come on Dinky opps I mean Birchey what MAN in his right mind does that to a woman. Women should be free to go to parties if they so wish it’s the idiotic men of this country that ruin it for everyone.

Agree they should be able to go to parties, but these parties are renowned for getting out of hand and being wild. It is common knowlege and its not like she is new to Dubai, I also didnt say what they guys did was right, i dont agree but why put yourself in a situation where you know that it can get out of hand.

... because most people don't think an "out of hand" party entails being raped with the help of a stun-gun?

Dunno...

(Sigh), I dont remember a time that my hands palms were soft! they have always been dry and coarse! Sometimes I get embarrassed when I shake hands with a fried, a male friend in particular with soft hands!
Always wearing glove at kitchen and baths cleaning times, use moisturizers but not that effective.
So what do you do to have soft hands?
Thank you in advance for your words.

I do understand Mrs K and where she is coming from. Being a wife, pregnant and thinking about breastfeeding I can imagine I must sound boring to a single woman who never met me. However, I have a lot of single friends who have lots of fun and excitement in their life (like I used to have in my naughty younger years) and we get together very often and we laugh and talk and enjoy the differences in each others life. Sometimes when they met the wrong guy they envy me, and sometimes when they are free to travel the world and not look back I envy them. (not for long, lol)
But the good part is, that no matter where we are in our lives, we are friends who share.
Even being extremely happily married, I still get jealous fits from girlfriends of wives from time to time because they feel threatened by my persona, I always treat other women as sisters, and I always try to make them feel comfortable if they have some kind of problem with me because of my looks or outgoing personality. That helps, and I have become friends with a lot of women who didnt like me at first. Those silly young girls your husband is hanging out with might not have that maturity yet, or dont even know you exist. Either case, who cares about what they do or think, your husband is supposed to be the wiser man.

firstly I wouldn't give an eid GIFT to someone who asks for it

But if I were giving an eid gift I would give up to 100...

My regular gardener + one other guy spent 3 days digging up my garden putting in interlock and doing all sorts of other work, i felt i needed to pay them a good amount for the work they did on top of what the company was charging so i gave them 250 each, and they totally flipped out in shock with the amount and kept coming back to ask if i was sure it was for them not for the work they had done to give to their boss, any way long story short 100AED is a lot, and remember they're working at a few places so getting eid gifts from loads of ppl

Hi, Elem! Not to worry, we're all coming over next week. It's my warped sense of humour and just a figure of speech, my husband and I have always had huge arguments whilst packing to go on holiday, so this massive life-changing move is even worse than our annual holiday rows, but divorce isn't on the cards, I hope Thank you for your kind words, I'm looking forward to meeting you, too - we can put our dh's in a room together and let them get on with it

Didn't bother with the groceries, that was enough effort for one day!
