Thanks-so it looks like unless there is plenty of time between flights the direct is better then as we will have one case. Surprised the costs are equal though
DH does this trip. He says that you have to clear immigration at Huston then proceed to collect your baggage and then checkin for next flight. If you only have hand luggage this is very quick as they will let you clear immigration in the quick clear no checkin bags queue (first one on left as you enter the immigration hall).
Pros - Immigration queue is a lot shorter than atlanta and lots of connectign flights to Atlanta.
Cons - You have to clear immigration, collect luggage and checkin again - easier if you only have hand luggage.
Don't know about this particular flight, but as far as I know, you will need to go through immigration and take out all your luggages, and then go to the domestic part of the airport and check in everything again. If I were you and if the ticket prices are about the same, I would take the direct flight. The extra miles are not worth the trouble.
Can anyone tell me how quick and easy-or otherwise-connections are at Houston airport?
Looks like the direct Dubai Atalnta airfare is pretty much the same as the Dubai-Houston-Atlanta Emirates one and as we wouldn't mind the airmiles are considering the latter longer flight.
Any thoughts?
