We just got DS first shoes from Pediped in Dubai Mall. They also have a stall in the Springs Town Centre. They have very soft soles but with a little support and good padding. I couldn't find Pediped in BumbleBee in Dubai Mall for the poster below. They did have quite a few of the Robeez. DS had those for the first while but now a bit more of a steadier walker we have moved to something with a soft but more of a sole than the Robeez. We went to Clarks but DS although only 14 months has size 6.5 feet and many of the first baby shoes are too small for him. We also found that Clarks only had shoes like trainers for his size. I thought they would be too hot for Dubai now. Pediped had more sandal type shoes but to cover his toes to be a bit cooler.
they do the fitting in clarks... but have to choose the time when ur baby is in a good mood to do that and when they r not too busy and crowded... good luck
Soft leather shoes for pre-waling - Robeez and Pediped are good. Just kidding and Bumble Bee have good range of those (obviously to order on Amazon through Shop & Ship would be cheaper, even with shipping)
For walking - Pablosky, Ecco, Clarks
Hello.Again.Kitty do you know of anywhere here in Dubai that fits babies and childrens feet properly like they do in a lot of other countries with the Clarkes and Start-rites - the half size and width? Thanks
yes, it's also important to get your child's feet properly fitted, in terms of length and width and choose appropriate shoes that are supportive and supple (and flat). Clarke's, Start-rite and Ecco are good - you should be looking for brands that do a range of half-sizes and widths.
Fashion shoes are generally not very good for growing feet and once your daughters get a bit bigger, avoid higher heels at all costs (Suri Cruise is going to have issues) because wearing higher heels often, while your tendons are still growing actually stunts the growth... I lived with a young woman who actually couldn't put her foot flat on the floor and when barefoot, had to walk around on tip-toe, all because she wore heels day in day out from a very young age.
I believe current recommendations are that baby wears no shoes at all until walking is well established. Once the little one is walking well (for about a month or six weeks) then specialists like Clarks & ecco make good first shoes. A very flexible sole is important.
If you want something on baby's feet before walking, thin soled leather shoes are great. Something like bobux originals... http://www.bobux.co.nz/
