I have adopted 2 cats and am bringing them home this weekend. I am looking to buy some basic things for them and would like to know who has the widest range and reasonable prices. I have been to Pet Zone on SZR and Pets Plus in Jumeirah but not too impressed with the range. Any suggestions please?

Also, which litter tray would you recommend (do they need the one with the cover for privacy?) and which litter brand is best? There are so many brands out there that I was a tad overwhelmed.

If anyone has second hand cat related equipment, I may be interested in purchasing

TIA

You can buy litter via Feline Friends website and they will make a little bit of money too :) It's the Whiskers & Tails clumping clay. www.felinefriendsdubai.com and click the icon on the front page. Your litter is delivered and FF make Dh 5 per bag :) :)

Thanks SM went yesterday and picked up the lot yesterday and got my new adopted cats last night! Bought the crystals for the litter tray but not too keen on them, doesn't do much for smell. Going to try another brand. I have an indoor cat and she has a cover litter box - it also helps with the smell. Has filters in the top of it too. I got mine in the Al Quoz pet shop. See below for map http://www.petlanduae.com/contact.php just avoid the sad dogs etc at the back of the store. They also have some reasonable scratching poles - get one. It's not a great range but OK. Re the litter - I used to use the little white pellets but it is so expensive when you are changing every day - we don't scoop and re use here. I don't understand how some of this stuff is supposed to last up to a month! So I have recently changed to Carrefour's own mineral cat litter ( blue bag) and so far so good. It is much cheaper and as I throw it on a daily basis, works out much cheaper.

I second the recommendation for the covered cat litter tray - I agree about the smell mitigation, but my priority was to reduce the amount of litter being "sprayed" around the litter tray area. My cats are "enthusiastic" diggers and buriers.
