Hi Ladies.

I am hoping you can help. I have just dropped off my car for the major service at Hyundai Service centre. They have quoted me 6000 AED for the full major service. I know nothing about cars.

What exactly should they be doing for this amount of money?

I don't want to get ripped off and I want to be able to check the invoice and know what everything means

Any tips?

TIA

I've got a KIA (same garage as Hyundai) and that is about right for the 120km service. I had mine done a while ago. They replace the main drive belt at 120km, and whilst that's expensive, it's much cheaper than if it breaks, as you'd need your whole engine replacing. Always ask for a discount when you go in then - I always ask [b'>really [/b'>nicely and generally get one - I think I got that service down to about 5,200.

I own a VW and my 60k service was 4k so that seems right They had to keep my car for 3 days as the service list was huge! 120k is a major service and i am sure if you contact Hyundai they will tell you what they have to do Servicing here is more expensive than Europe and most of the dealers have a monopoly over us if we want a dealer service
