Agree with others on AA. I have family who have been with them for some 50 years. An uncle went to meetings daily for 30 years. Non judgemental and as someone said they have all ' walked the walk ' ........She has taken a big step by admitting her addiction , now needs to take the next step. Wishing her well in her recovery.

She should go to AA. There are all sorts of medical studies that say therapy does little to nothing and hypnotherapy does nothing - AA is one of the few approaches that has long term success. I know there are a lot of concerns and misperceptions about AA, but it is just a supportive group of people who have been there before, there are no fees/dues/memberships/etc., it isn't at all a religious program, and you never have to do anything. And, I know for a fact that there are a lot of women in the program in Dubai. http://www.aauae.net/index.php/what-is-aa/for-the-newcomer You can actually take her yourself to an open meeting if she wants.

Please tell your friend to contact AA, they really are the experts in the field, they have walked the walk. Just google AA groups. Alcohol addiction is a very specific illness, very few medical professionals are really equipped to deal with it, other AA members may be able to point her in a useful direction but the best help she will get is from AA itself. Good luck to her, she has taken the first step towards a cure, by admitting her problem.
