Another question - which beach is best, they're thinking of going to one tomorrow. Thanks!

If you opt for Jumeirah beach park bear in mind they have two ladies only days now (Monday & Wednesday I think but better check as I might be mistaken). Also, it is extremely busy on weekends and during the week they bring tourists from all over Dubai (mostly Russians I must say) in mini buses, so it is quite crowded, too. I would go to one of quieter beaches between Jumeirah 1 & Burj Al Arab, there are so many - or kite beach if you would like to have showers & snacks available.

Yes Jumeirah Beach Park is a nice public beach (not at the weekend though, too crowded). Al Mamzar Beach Park is even better, great facilities for families, very quiet during the week and you can hire a "chalet" for the day. It's a bit far but worth the trip.

Hi Mom, Jumeira Beach Park is one of our favourites, mainly because you've got toilets, showers and food all in one place. Also, if your visitors have kids, there's the park area with climbing frames and grass to kick a ball round. HTH

Hello! We really like kite surfing beach off Jumeirah Beach Road. The water is really shallow there and less rough. It has some loos there too near the volleyball/tennis courts. It can be a lot quieter there in the week too. They are doing some upgrading there at the moment though. JBR beach is good as there are plenty of amenities and it's a nice walk down JBR for first time visitors.
