Hello Everyone!

I am in my 25th week of pregnancy. Could anyone recommend a good physiotherapist for me? I don't have any issues per say, but would like a good overall stretching.

Thank you!

And please do avoid uncertified and non medical massages, especially if you're pregnant. You never know when they might cause a problem instead of solve one..

You might want to look at a chiropractic treatment while pregnant to align your pelvis and spine.. I've done one session at Pure Chiropractic, and I think you'd need to do that weekly in your last two months. I have 10 sessions of physiotherapy or chiropractic therapy included on my insurance so maybe you can have it on your insurance too. It's different than physiotherapy in that it's not just a massage that provides short term relief, but manipulation of the spine and muscles to release tension and realign joints to free nerves that might be constructed and causing problems thus possibly healing holistically. I know about the wonders of chiropractic after I was helped by a chiropractic doctor following a back injury while exercising. editing to add this: http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/chiropracticcare.html I've tried up and running, and pure clinic so far. Both good. edited by julia102 on 26/07/2014

I would feel much safer with a physiotherapist than a masseuse. But is it true that a physiotherapist won't work on you unless you have a problem? Can't they just help you align your back and stuff?

I'm totally addicted to pregnancy massages!! Makes you feel 100% better from your toes to your head and it's totally safe as they position you on your side and use special oils. I always suffered from a bad back and thought being pregnant would make it bad. But have had regular massages and no pain yet at 29 weeks! I go to the spa at the Sheraton hotel at Mall of the Emirates and they do a great job at looking after you and bump!

Hi ImCon, I would recommend a good massage. I don't think any physio would be impressed with anyone taking up valuable appointment time for an overall stretching. They treat specific complaints and I know there is a significant wait list for the good physio's around Dubai. I agree. But is massage also safe during pregnancy? Any specialist massage centre can you recommend? Thanks!
