Hello to all of you ladies!
We have relocated to Dubai last week form Houston, TX (I'm Polish, my husband American). We have 2 little children. and I have few questions:
1. where I can go for music/activity classes with kids (we were attending Gymboree in States).
2. good place/amusement park for a two year old? (she has birthday coming soon)
3. I like to sew, so where can I find sewing supply store and fabric store, also a sewing machine (I didn't bring mine here, and I'd like to set up nice sewing room).
4. also we are looking for a recommended pediatrician, preferably American.
5. we have brought all our stuff from USA and we have decided it is far too much, we would like to sell and giveaway some (especially baby stuff), how do I go about it?
6. and any advice you can give me/us as a newcomer and staying here for good (most likely :) )

Thank you! Yeah, it is so different, and better kind of heat (at least for now :) ) We are leaving in Green Community. And for the birthday we have chosen Favorite Things, she will have blast over there! Welcome to Dubai! I am from Houston; Dubai in a very different place, isn't it? I love it here and I'm sure your family will, too. With regards to your questions... 1. the little gym is a good place. Many soft play areas offer camps or one time classes as well. It depends on the ages of your children which ones I would recommend. 2. The best soft play for her age would be extreme fun in motor city, Apple seeds in gold and diamond park or favourite things in the marina mall. Time out dubai kids is a good resource for that. 3. No idea on this one. 4. This depends on your area. Where are you living? Most mediclinics have good, relable doctors with nice reputations. I would start there first. 5. Many Facebook groups have been successful for my friends. "Second hand Dubai" or "pre loved dubai" are some examples. Also, dubizzle.com is an option. Best luck!

Thank you for the answer! With all the advertised pages on fb, I have found even more classes/groups that I can sew with. I can only answer no. 3: For buying a sewing machine it depends on what you are looking for. You can buy basic sewing machines from any big store like Carrefour etc. For more advanced machines you can look at Craftland: http://www.mycraftland.com/ in Town Centre and Classic Quilts: http://classicquiltsdubai.com/ in Jumeirah Plaza. For sewing supplies you can find about anything at Craftland, but they are a bit pricy. For much cheaper products you can go to Satwa or the Haberdashery Souk in Old Dubai, but for not always the best quality and it requires a lot more effort than just going to Craftland. For material it depends on what you are looking for. I personally like to got to Al Ghurair Mall to the textile shops there. It is more expensive than the Satwa shops, but on average the quality is better. Otherwise you can go to Satwa or Meena Bazaar. In this heat I would definitely go to Al Ghurair for the convenience factor alone.
