Perhaps you'll avoid knowing if you've been nominated for the ALS ice bucket challenge then(!!), my DH was laughing that he'd been forgotten and then he gets 2 nominations in an hour, agghhhh! I will happily donate but couldn't do the bucket thing :)
Hi. Do other websites work? The fact that it's happening with 2 devices suggest it's more of a connectivity issue than anything else.
If it's not that, try opening a new page and typing the web address again in full. Not using favourites or a past link. On ipad you could try downloading the app instead.

I'm having issues with connecting to facebook & wonder if you have any advice please? On the ipad it says it has timed out? On the laptop, it won't even connect to the page? I have reset my browser settings, now don't know what to do. I'm not a particularly active user, but am waiting for a reply so am getting frustrated!
