Hello. .I'm sorry this is regarding the school again but I'm hoping you can help. Are there regular tests/grading system for students. For example how would a year one or year two student be tested on spellings and maths..and also are progress reports based on formal written exams. Any information you share would be help..thanks

i'm assuming ur asking this question in terms of the school that my child goes to?! the children follow the National Curriculum and as such are assessed using NFER tests for every year group and then national tests such as SATs at the end of yr 2, etc. spellings are also tested in class but not sure of what the formal policy on that is... progress reports at our school are not based on just the written tests... its a compilation of any entire terms worth of observation and activities and assessments. hope that helps edited by HorizonMum2 on 18/09/2014
