Hi, found a tiny baby tortoise on the road near my house. Too cute. Do I need to feed it any thing special.I currently have him in a shoebox with hay, water and some romaine lettuce. I already have an adult in the garden, but not sure if I should put the baby with him.

Hi Sulcata hatchlings are quite hardy but I would be wary of putting it in with a large tortoise as they can get squashed. Can you fence in a small area for the new tortoise to live in as it would be far better than living in the box. All you need is a new bricks in a corner . They love lettuce but it has very little nutrition for a tortoise, Sulcatas are grazers and like grass and weeds, they can also be given vegetables but once with a bit more roughage such as cabbage, broccoli, courgette, grated carrot etc. If you would like me to email you a care sheet let me know.
