Actually there are lots of cheap "persian" rugs in Dragon Market. I think they are made of synthetic fibres - some seem quite nice though.

You probably wouldn't want to travel so far, but when we used to do visa runs to Hatta, there were carpet sellers on the side of the roads. We bought a huge imitation persian carpet for couple hundred after haggling.
