Hi ladies I'm new here trying to help a friend. .. I've read different views on this but would like to get a definite answer please. .. she's 5 weeks pregnant and by the time she gets all documents required for marriage she will probably be 8 or 9 weeks... she heard of the blood tests they do in dubai.. will it show she's pregnant n get her into trouble? Your advice is much appreciated Hi, we've replied to your query in different forum already. She needs to do premarital test ONLY in GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, they will not accept private clinic certificate (there were many cases with fake results so the government has cut it off). As every hospital/clinic has their own region assigned, she needs to call them first and ask if her address falls under them. The pregnancy might get her into trouble if someone will find out, so it's safer to get married abroad and come back here. However she might also risk it and try, as the premarital blood test is looking for only serious genetic disorders (thalasemia etc.) and sexually transmitted diseases. I believe unless she's in 7th month that someone can actually see it, they wouldn't normally test for pregnancy. Please note that there is a difference between wanting to know your future's spouse background and the mandatory medical test. Places such as Zulekha hospital is offering extras in their packages - f.e. abdomen ultrasound and sperm testing, this is not at all in the standard premarital screening. The standard one is just to take ur blood and see if there's any disease which might endanger the life of the future baby. Another thing is if she's f.e. Christian and will get married in a church...then i'm not sure if they'll even ask for medical ceritificate as there's a requirement if you are getting married in the Dubai Courts. She and her fiance have to go together (not sure if it's a must, but it's definitely recommended to do it at once) and they'll pay around AED 820 for both, later on upon picking up the results (they must be present both together for little chitchat with the doctor) they'll have to pay AED 300. They both have to also sign each other's certificates. edited by CZ_Expat on 19/12/2014 edited by CZ_Expat on 22/12/2014

Check out the following websites, there are some private clinics which do the premarital screening and they list what diseases will be checked in the test. I don't see pregnancy as one of the things that will be checked, but have a look, maybe call one of the clinics and ask anonymously.
